We received this hen from a friend. She is very sweet, feathers on her feet and lays a white egg. she was an assorted bantam.

. She is in an enclosed pen with Silkies and an Ameraucana and 2 Old English Game Bantams. The Old English Game lay a smaller white egg and the Silkies more of a cream to light brown. the Ameraucana lays a blue egg. One day I got 7 eggs from them so that is how I figured hers was a white egg. We have gone back and forth between the Langshan and Cochin. She does like to chase the ball when my husband throws it for the dog and she likes to talk to you when you come and feed them.

You say she lays white eggs? Strange since she has red earlobes.

I would guess a mix of some sort, very nice looking:)

AFAIK, Langshans don't come in bantam. Some kind of Cochin mix, perhaps?

Langshans do exist in bantam. But this bird does not appear to be one of them, especially if it lays a white egg.

Hum. Did not know that- thanks, rodriguezpoultry!

Are you sure she lays a white egg? Try putting it next to a piece of white paper- some of my Cochin girls' eggs are really light, very close to white.

So looking at her egg more and putting it next to white paper, it is whiter than the Silkie eggs but not as white as the paper. She also did not go broody like the Silkies or the Old English Game hens I had.
