It highly depends on individual bird, an the quality of the bird. There is definitely a difference between hatchery birds and birds that come from a breeder

I've only ever kept one Barred Rock from my originals & she lived to 8. My sister has a Welsummer that is almost 13. Both birds were hatchery birds, so who knows! I rotate out every 2-3 years, so I don't know how long they live.
