I'm trying to figure out what other bantam breed would be good to raise and do well in shows. Since this is my last year in 4-H I want to get some eggs from SQ parents but I have no clue on what breed. I kind of want to stay away from featherlegged because I let my bird free range most of the time.

Breed I've seen on the champion row:
Modern Games
Rosecombs
White wyandottes
and ?

Rhode Island Reds were the big hit at my county fair last year. And, trust me, this is no ordinary county fair. I was expecting hatchery birds (last year was my first year showing poultry) and boy was I WRONG! These RIR were dark and had great body type. I would try some of them.

Not sure about 4-H shows... I only go to APA/ABA sanctioned shows.

I've seen Cubalaya, Sumatra, Shamo, Jersey Giant, Brahma... There's more, I just can't remember them all. lol

Anything white or black. Whether its a Wyandotte or a Rock they always seem to be in champion row more than others. Solid colors seem to do better than patterned birds.
