What breed of duck should I choose?

I want to hatch some duck eggs (I’ve only done chicken and Turkey) any idea of what breed I should do? I’d like to not have to free-free roam them as I have wolf dogs. I’ve never raided ducks before.

I am a big fan of runner ducks. I think they are fairly quiet (for ducks), can usually be confined with 3-foot fencing (I had one girl who could "fly" for about two seconds before landing and she could escape but rarely did) and are on the smaller side so they don't require a lot of housing space. They come in a variety of colors, mine tend to be prolific egg layers and are amusing on a daily basis.

Like any ducks, they will also be endlessly messy.
