What Breed of Rooster would YOU get?

Alright, so, I want to get a rooster next year. I've had what breed I'm going to get "figured out" more than once... My mind keeps changing! So, here we go..

If you wanted a rooster that was beautiful, good at protecting his flock-yet not aggressive towards people/or his hens, carried good egg laying genes, and wasn't very flighty, what breed would YOU get?

Please give me some ideas! Or just share breeds that have worked out for you (why you like them as well), are popular on the selling market, ect.

I like wyandottes! Or Brahma! I've had great experiences with both. Turkens are good too(!) but not everyone is a fan of a naked neck.

I have my first Wyandotte cockerel.
He's only 7 weeks.
A bit skittish, but friendly enough to sit on my lap. Has tons of character.

All cockerels will fight in the right circumstances. It's not just a particular breed.

Not having the breed long enough, I can't say. But I'm pleased with my boy.

Well, I have had 4 roosters this year. In my first batch, a Jersey Giant, who was rehomed because he was a total tool, at only 6 weeks. The one in that flock that I kept was a white leghorn, while absolutely gourgeous, I wouldn't recommend them, he can be mean, he is 12 weeks, almost 13, and he has started trying to breed, one of my pullets, who is he'd hen, hides from him because he is such a jerk, good at alerting of danger/beetles though. He is my pride, not my joy, he can be aggressive, but he is beautiful. Now in my 3rd batch I have a light Brahma cockerel, and a Silver Laced Wyandotte cockerel, the light Brahma is a bit shy, but with a bit of warming up, he is super cute, and full of personality, and the Wyandotte is the sweetest chick I've ever had, he runs right over to see me when I let them out in the morning, and perches on my head. I've always wanted a Cochin rooster though. When I went to a 4H fair, there was 2 Cochin roosters, they didn't crow much, or cluck, and the one with a hen was so gentle with her, unlike the Plymoth Rock couple I saw.

I think either an EE or an Orpington rooster would do well. They are very friendly and good at protecting their flock.

My neighbor has a "sexed pullet" rooster. Most likely an easter egger. He's very pretty, and not mean. He'll let you get fairly close to him. I've even held him before. He's a nice boy.

Better than my leghorn, the only time he gets close is to peck.
