im getting a few chicks and wanted to get a game bird breed but not sure what type.
do you think i should get a malay, aseel, shamo, or thailands? which of these do you think would be best with other chickens, humans, most hardy, and also most unique looking? their doesn't seem to be to much information these breeds.

Well, you really got to be prepared when getting these though. Just remember, a lot of breeders sell crossbreds - And purebreds go for over $100 per bird.

I don't know much about each one's temperament versus the other, but Malays will be the biggest of them all, Asils are often pretty small, Shamos are the most "muscled and upright" of them, and Thailands are usually a little more "stiff" looking and shorter in neck but come in some very beautiful colors! They're also probably the most rare of the Orientals.

I'm sure someone else can help on behavior and temperament in each breed though. I probably won't own any until next year, but I have had experience with a flock of Shamo x Asils.

Ah. Then it isn't going to be purebred, OR the breed you wanted. It won't look like what you want it to look like either. . . I think a couple Heirloom Seed sellers have real Malays and Ko Shamo, but that's it. ( so if you're getting from them? ) True Hatcheries don't have the real stuff, and getting Oriental Game Fowl as chicks is risky. . . They're not all that strong and hardy, which is why breeders sell them at over 6 months of age.
