Could he be a mixed breed?
I'm not recognizing that color/pattern as being a pure one. No red in his saddle feathers is throwing me.

Some of the hens I got from this gal were black so I assumed maybe australorp but he is so red and the other rooster I got from her had a lot of red too.

But yes I imagine he could definitely be a mixed breed.

I was thinking black copper maran. But he doesnt have feathered legs. So max a BCM mix or australorp mix
