The subject says it all.. Yes, I'm a newbie, the rooster on the cover of the chickens magazine is so beautiful, can anyone tell me the breed? Thanks

I Googled the Magazine and if its the one I am looking at I *think* its a Colored Rose Comb Dorking. It looks like it has 5 toes so that's what I'm going off of.
If you want some easy resources for breed references, either look at: http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/CGD/Dorks/BRKDorks.html and http://www.ithaca.edu/staff/jhenderson/chooks/chooks.html

Wow, great link! Much better photo and I think that it is the same photo of the same bird. He is really handsome! His comb looks more like a pea comb. Since he is listed as a wild rooster, his is likely a mixture of several breeds. His coloration is a golden duckwing.

Thanks for so many fast responses, I may have to try to track down one of those..

Thanks for the coloring info, that's really impressive looking on any breed.
I got the Dusty Boots info from the magazine, I didn't give them credit for the photo in my original post. That was the only info about the cover shot available.
