Hello, I already keep chickens, but I am looking to get ducks as well. Is there any breeds that you would recommend me getting?
I will want them to be rare flyers if not then I would want non-flyers, I wouldn't mind egg production, want them to look okay, and it doesn't matter if they like to swim or not because I can give them a pond if they do. please help.......
cheers, Fraser

This would be a good place to start but there are more breeds than what is listed. http://www.metzerfarms.com/DuckBreedComparison.cfm?CustID=5857524 I could never decide on one breed so I have one of each. A Cayuga, blue runner, fawn and white runner, welsh harlequin and white layer. If given the chance I would love a Magpie, blue Swedish or black east India duck.

What qualities are you looking for in a duck? I was looking for a not skittish, good egg layer so I went with Welsh Harlequins. I was also looking at Anconas but couldn't find a place that would ship in small quantities.

I don't want it to be able to fly, I don't mind about egg laying, and a good mothering duck would be a bonus
