What Breed Should I Get?

That's an awesome planner. The Golden Cascades were developed by Dave Holderread around the 1980s (they are not yet accepted into the standard of perfection) with the goal of producing an active but calm dual-purpose bird with excellent production qualities. This page seems to do a good job of summing up the basic info and highlights from the Holderread page.
Well, Thank you very much for the kudos! - And the link to the web-site with the info about the Golden Cascade breed. I also revisited the Wikipedia-Page and there is now a picture of a female Golden Cascade duck, which i promptly integrated into the Flock-Planner, so the new Flock-Planner has the Golden Cascade Duck included. Now there's 28 duck breeds to select from:

They make days 10,000x better! 🥰
Awwwwwwwww!!!!!! It really is something I've dreamed about. As a kid, most of my friends dreamed of having horses. I dreamed of having ducks. Lol!

These ducks will be pets more than anything, but I do like duck eggs! I adore Runners.

Advice? I'm leaning towards Runners for cuteness, but I've heard they can be really standoffish.
Love my Runners! I think Daffy Duck is a black Runner, if it makes any difference. My Runners literally come running (take or leave the pun) every time they see me, and they que up to go into the coup at night. Runner eggs taste quite a bit like chicken eggs, which might be the most defining detail in your choice. Here's part of my flock shaking me down for food.
