I'm getting a big tote thing tomorrow. I'm going to try using a pan with a rack over it I've seen in a few videos and articles. Thd idea is that the pan catches water and food mess. I have a chick waterer and feeder I think will work at first. And I'm modifying my MHP for ducks.

Yet, for the 2020 Fall Ducklings i simply used a heat-pad, flat on the ground covered by a cardboard box with a hole cut in one side:

I raised my first ones in a big storage bin in the corner of my room I just got some very strong scented wax cubes and they actually made the overall smell in the room not that bad

You obviously have never fed too many meal-worms to ducklings. That smell will peel the paint off your walls…

Couldn't find a very large bin today. I got the largest one I could find. It will work for maybe 2 weeks for 4 ducks. I'll have to get another after that, I think, and connect them somehow OR put them in my son's bathtub. I'm frustrated. I had a BIG rabbit cage, but I think I gave it away when we moved because I can't find it.

I used choroplast that you can get at a home depot. I score it so you can fold it up like a cage. It is a pretty cheap option. I use cube shelves to create a cage around it. It's basically the C&C cages used for guinea pigs.

Kiddie-Pool aka wading-pool. - Ask at the local WalMart, they might have one in the back-storage.

How much room do I need for 4 ducklings? Since this is going in my house, it needs to fit and have a lid or some other covering because cats and a very nosy chiweenie. That's why I was leaning toward a tote type thing. I think I found larger ones at a store down in the valley. I can try tomorrow.

The dog is only a problem when they're tiny. Once they get as tall as she is, she gets scared. It won't take long for ducks to be as tall as she is. She's very low to the ground. Little thing has 3 inch legs - haha!
