we recently got a fence up in our back yard that will give the chickens a lot more room for them to roam, and my mother and I were looking for some new additions to the family. our birds are all pets so we aren't necessarily looking for meat birds, but they wouldn't hurt. there is such a variety of beautiful birds, i just can't seem to narrow it down, so I wanted to see if any of you had some suggestions. we want a friendly and social breed that will get along with other breeds too. currently we have 2 ss, 2 bo's, a cochin rooster, and three cochin ss mixes, all of which are very social and get along well. I wouldn't want to disrupt their peace, does anyone have any recommendations or advice, I'd appreciate it :)

I would recommend the Red Sussex cross as they lay a decent amount of eggs, are pretty to look at and are just friendly birds. I have also had a couple cute little bantam cochins, one of which hatched some chicks. And I would agree that Ameraucanas are awesome.
