I'm looking to get a trio of chickens, but not sure what breed to get.
I would like a breed that :
*comes in blue
*is not very common
*can stand confinement well
*Often goes broody
*Can be shown in FFA & 4-H events

Faverolles! Though the large fowl blues (and bantam blues for that matter) are VERY hard to find. Otherwise, I'd say orpingtons, though the b/b/s orps are more and more common every day it seems like.

Blue Asil (Standard breed; non-standard color: can be shown at any APA sanctioned show)

Asils, Ameraucanas, Araucanas, and Jersey Giants are all confinement bearing, uncommon, blue colored, often to frequently broody, showable breeds.

Orpingtons are very common.

Yes, the come in bantam, and yes they bear confinement well. A lot of Gamefowl are kept in small enclosures most of the day.

Thanks for all the breeds everyone!
Im looking for either size.
I just want something that can be shown in FFA, 4-H, etc and something that I think is pretty (hence the color blue, lol)
