I remember seeing some big chickens in that movie but no idea what breed.

L Frank Baum, the author of the book on which the film was based, raised Hamburg chickens and even published a book about them. But the farmyard birds in the movie weren't Hamburgs.

its the sequel movie based upon some of the sequel books. Its kinda dark. I don't think they came out with the movie until the 80s.
