What breed / why does Breeder want her back??

The short version... we’ve had this gal for MONTHS. She’s a family favorite. The breeders daughter sold us the chickens, she was not suppose to sell this one. Our info was recently located and they want her back. Is there a chicken code where we should? There is a 9 year old involved. This gal is very docile and good natured.

She's an Easter Egger. As to why they want her back ? Perhaps she was someone's 'pet' and was inadvertently sold. You've had her for months, and just now they want her back? I think that I would keep her, but the decision is yours.

That's where I was going, that she's an easter egger... and I hope that the breeder didn't think she was an ameraucana... she doesn't even fit breed standard... so she can't be part of an ameraucana breeding program...

If I was you I wouldn't give her back. I'm assuming she is already integrated with your flock, and I wouldn't put so much stress on her. This could also be a teaching moment for the girl that not all mistakes can be fixed.

We were told she was an EE and would lay colored eggs. She’s about 7 months old and does not lay eggs yet

Good, then I completely agree with @sourland about this... maybe she was somebody's pet, or the breeder thought she was an ameraucana... but she's not. Unfortunately easter eggers are commonly sold as ameraucana, and it fools a lot of people.

As of property... You still have your bill of sale, right? your receipt? I mean, its not like she's a rare bird, she's a mix. Idk why they'd be so adamant about it.

She’s very happy and has 2 BFFs. My son is quite attached. She hops up the deck steps to have snack with him after school/ PM when she sees him.
