What Breed?

I'm thinking of getting some chickens for in my back yard for eggs and meat when they'er no longer laying. What breed should I get?

If you are looking for birds that lay and also can be good for meat then you will want a dual purpose bird or a heavy breed such as an orpingtons or rocks. There are many heavy breeds out there though and I am sure that someone will come along and have a better answer for you than me.
