Hello everyone,

I'm the new guy here. I got these chickens last summer and have yet to find out what breed they are. They are very beautiful, and so is their offspring so I would love to know what breed.

First my Roo:

He's a proud one. I have another rooster who is older than him, but they got together and decided this one's the boss (if you know what I mean). I now keep them separated.

Here is one of my girls with her chicks:

And finally one more with her (slightly older) chicks:

I have noticed that some of these chicks have feathers on their feet and some don't. This leads me to believe the hen is a brahma cross (she's colored like a light brahma).

Thank you in advance and I've enjoyed this site in the short time I've been here.

They look like some kind or cross of Old English Game or maybe Modern or American Game bird to me. But, sadly I am NOT an expert on chicken breeds yet - so it's just a somewhat educated guess. Hope you enjoy your stay here at BYC!

the coloring of your rooster suggests to me some sort of hennie or hen-feathered gamefowl is in there, but with feathering on the legs they are clearly a mix of some sort.

I'm convinced they are old english game. The first two (roo and hen) are clean legged. It's only the real light one that has some feathers there. Thank you all for the input. Next question: what color would the first two be classified as (I don't think they are mixed). From some searching, I would say fawn. Would that be right?

They aren't old english, far too big even if they are a cross.. They are probably part american gamefowl (confused with old english very often) and they are very common, almost every game hen that people have in their backyards is a american gamefowl and they don't even know it. I agree with vcomb.
