My grandfather - her husband - emigrated from Germany shortly before the war. His three brothers were Nazis, two of which were killed in the war - one on the Russian front. My grandmother came to America on peace talks after the war but was deported for being a "Communist". We have the telegraphs between her and my grandfather between Detroit and Windsor, trying to get her over back into America to marry him so she could become a citizen. The marriage was supposed to be a quickie, and a divorce planned, but she got pregnant with my mom. They remained married until my grandfather died in 1989. The surviving Nazi brother also emigrated to Detroit, and "Uncle Leo" was one of my favorite uncles
