I am having trouble figuring out what breed my red rooster is. He came from a barnyard mix at a 4-h chick sale. He is about two and a half months old.

At this point I cannot tell. It would be helpful to have a picture of his sides and breast.

You answered your own question. You know he is a mix, therefore, is not any recognized breed.
