I am new to chickens and got 4 red pullets and 2 straight run from tsc. I know one of the straight run is a golden laced wyandotte and from reading other threads I THINK the second is some type of cochin? Can anyone tell me what he/she is? Then today I went to my farmer's market looking for ameraucanas. I was reading up how to tell the difference between purebred and EEs trying to understand and decided to get one of each. The guy told me the black was pure ameraucana and I did my best to tell myself and then I got the EE. So is the all black purebred? And would the EE be considered a splash and any guesses on sex yet for the EE? They are 3 weeks. Sorry this is so long I'm new!!

Any idea of what they are? The guy told me the black was an ameraucana and the black and white was an EE. Its hard to see from the pic but the black one has the tufts on her cheeks and a beard coming in..

Okay I think I'm starting to understand... So the all black bird is not an ameraucana because she has a single comb instead of a pea comb and greenish eyes instead of reddish brown is this correct? So anybody have ideas on breeds then? The little yellow/gray chick was from the bantam bin at tsc and has fluffy feet if that helps at all. Please help I am dyeing to know what breeds I have!! Happy Easter by the way!!

Yes, the black one cannot be a pure Ameraucana because of the single comb. EEs and Ameraucanas have pea combs, and EEs usually have green legs. So the black and white one isn't likely an EE either. Sorry, no idea what they could be other than mixed breeds.

Is the yellow grey chick a bantam? What kind of comb and how many toes?

Yes I got him/her from the bantam bin at tsc. He has 4 toes and the comb is so small right now it's hard to tell. Looks like a single comb but could possibly be a pea comb but until it's bigger not sure.
