What breeds do you see in her.

We just acquired a pretty bantam hen she is thought to be half Japanese bantam (her dad) and her moms dad is thought to be a silver laced wyandotte bantam.

Does that look about right? I just love her shape, and she has 4 chicks thought to fathered by a wyandotte bantam rooster so excited to see what they look like.

Yes I can see that in her, but what does her come look like? Straight combs are recessive so I would expect her to have a Wyandotte comb like her mother, unless her mother was genetically heterozygous for that.

She dose not have the wyandotte combe and her mom was a bit of a question as to what she was but thought the moms dad was her wyandotte bantam rooster.
The chicks she has do appear to have rose combes.

She looks just like my Japanese Bantam, except for the darker splotches in her feathers. So I’d say that half of her is spot on!
In looking thru my pics, I realize I don’t have many of her, and none showing off that proud tail from the side... but this one gives you an idea how close she looks to yours. Mine is a sweety pie. She’s very shy and timid- unless she’s broody- which seems to be about 10-15 times a year. UGH! Lol. When it’s possible for me to do so, I’ll definitely be letting this little girl raise some chicks. I’m convinced it’s her entire life’s dream and goal to be a mother, haha!!

Well she does have the Japanese look to get talk and the fat body and yellow legs passed down from Mom. She looks like a real cutie . Is she being a good mom?
She is being a very good mom! We just picked her and the chicks up yesterday but they are settled in great and the kids just love her and the chicks. She and any pullet chicks will be living with my daughters old english bantam pair for the winter.
