What breeds of chicken lay really-super-dark-chocolate-brown/red eggs?

I guess I will just order a few welsummers and marans and see what I get. I can go for more quality in the future.

Im looking for a chocolate egg layer as well...from what I've read the Welsummers are more cold Hardy. Im from Kentucky so that is important to me. not sure it is to you or not.

Barnvelders do, too, but aren[t that sweet IMO.

Really? My barnevelder girl is much sweeter than most of the other breeds I've had.

I have hatchery cuckoo marans and my RIR eggs are darker than their's!

My coco marans lay more of a reddish/ copper dark brown. They are clearly darker than my Delaware's, but my Jersey Giant sometimes gets pretty close.

My welsummers and barnevelders aren't laying right now, so I can't tell you what color they are!

My Marans are the friendliest/ most docile/most calm of the three.
