What breeds of chickens should I get?

I want to get 2 chickens... Don't want loud or flighty breeds. Also, I am not going to eat them,. I would want a cold hardy breed.. Thankyou

I find Dominiques' & RIRs' to be quiet and personable. Both lay brown eggs, are steady layers and tolerate NY winters well, Sue

RIR are good layers but you see them around allot but they still are not bad looking birds and very good layers .
