What breeds of roosters are these?

I’m new to the forum, but I rely on many posts from here to help me be the best chick mama.
we hatched some eggs(with the help from this group) we got from a friend last year and we ended up with 4 roosters (plus a Silkie that we just found out was a roosterI couldn’t bring myself to get rid of them because they grew up together and seemed to be getting along fine. Now, I’ve noticed they are ganging up on our hens making them bleed and I’ve noticed feathers missing from a few of our hens heads. I’ve also noticed they have started picking fights with one another so I think it’s time for them to go. Im having a hard time picking which one and honestly I don’t know if one breed is better than the other? Looking for any advice!

Were you aware at least the red one is a gamecock of some sort? I can’t imagine anyone sold you eggs and didn’t tell you that.

Which of them respects your authority the most? You don’t want to worry about getting flogged by him every time your around. Maybe think about what you value the most in a rooster: a protector for your hens, a cuddly pet, etc. and judge who you keep based off that. Keep in mind the temperament of the cockbird you choose to keep may change once the other males are removed and he’s fully in charge.

Are you sure? I would have expected a gamecock to be causing issues before this, by fighting with the other cockerels.

Individuals matter a lot more than breeds.
So I don't think identifying breeds would help much in this case.

Since you don't know which is the best or favorite, think about whether any of them cause problems or irritate you. It could be important things, like one that attacks you. Or it could be trivial things, like one with an irritating crow, or with a color you just don't like.

If you want to hatch chicks later, think about whether you want chicks like this (for each rooster, consider how he acts and how he looks.)

And do consider whether you want a rooster at all. If you part with them all, then you won't have to pick between them.

I don't know what is best for you, so I'm just trying to list some things I would consider.

There are two issues to consider: purpose and temperament.

What do you want out of a rooster? Simply a flock protector? Do you want to raise chicks from him? If so, what qualities are you looking for in the offspring?

If you don't want to hatch chicks from him, then simply choose the rooster with the right temperament. Don't choose the friendliest. Choose one who keeps a respectful distance and acknowledges your place as flock leader. That is really the most important thing. The Silkie would probably be a good choice because they are rarely human aggressive.

However, if you do want to use him for chicks, consider breed qualities. Offspring from Silkies and games are not going to be top egg producers. The other roosters look like a possible red sex link mix and a Leghorn mix. Those ones should father more productive offspring.

I agree with roosterhavoc that the red boy is a game cock, or at least mostly game cock. He may not tolerate other roosters later on, so that is a consideration. But you will know better than us about the temperaments of your roosters. I'm just giving you things to think about as you make your choice. Best of luck!

What do you want a rooster for? Protection, hatching eggs and chicks, .....?

Honestly I have a low tolerance for roosters being abusive to hens. I would get rid of any who are ganging up on hens/making them bleed. I always get rid of roosters who are inconsiderate. As for breeds, the single comb boys look to be Leghorn mixes and the pea combed one a game bird.

Thank you! That's what I was thinking. I haven't had any issues up until recently, but I agree I don't want to keep the ones that are making the hens bleed. It's so annoying!
