Cornish bantams.

Yes, Bantams. Bear with me. They're very stocky little birds, and while they likely can't feed a whole family a meal, they can easily feed 1 or 2 people if fed properly for their 16 weeks.

They lay constantly, and continue to if you don't let them brood. The male's are friendly around people when handled.

The only down side is they don't do too well under -10F. They should do okay though so long as they have draft free living coops

Bantams! They do great! They are pretty friendly! My little bantams did fine with -17F. You’ll have to get quiet a few of them if you have a lot a people to feed. I’ve got 50+ Bantams, in the summer I’ll get 2+ dozen of eggs a day (more if they didn’t go broody). They make great mother! Mine have hatched and raised baby geese.

No my rooster would kill a bantam

That's amazing!!
but my rooster would crush a bantam hen

How about Wyandottes? I know a lot of people have had ones that were mean to all the other birds, but this seems to be the exception rather than the rule. I've only really had positive experiences with the breed.
let me edit

also mine is MEAN drawn blood and is probably the reason for a lot of the blood on chickens.
