what bugs will your chicks eat?

Mine-just about anything but tried a daddy longlegs and spit that out in one big hurry-than spit out liquid shortly after-must be poisonous or give off an odor,or horrible taste.

sigh... my Silkie won't eat bugs. I get so excited for her when one crawls across her toes, and then all she does is sneeze at it and step aside so she can go back to her chicken kibble.

Mine eat anything that moves, ants, grubs, little toads, even baby mice, yes im not kidding, i was grossed out

also its really funny to watch them snatch a moth or other flying insect from the air

I have it on good authority that slugs are delicious too. When I clean out the waterer Ethel comes RUNNING to see if there's one hanging out beneath the bowl, and slurps them up before anyone else can see what she's up to.

I love to watch mine catch a moth and everyone else chase them around wanting some of it. My son goes to our back door and catches more and throws them into the brooder.

OK, how shall I teach my chicks to eat japanese beetles?

THEY NEED to learn to eat those before they destroy my garden...

I tried again today. I got a cup of them and brought the cup of them to the chickens. they "talked" to them and then ran away.... my chickens are messed up. both my neighbros chickens eat the japanese beetles!!!
