the heading says it all, i was wondering if there are any flowers, bushes or plants that i could plant in the coop that would be ok for the c hickens to peck and eat ,and plants that would be able to withstand my girls?

I planted sunflowers just outside the run fence. I have also seen here where folks lay down hardware cloth or other wiring to protect roots and then the plant various grasses.

I planted raspberries in my coop. Of course I've had to put a circle of chicken wire around it so that it can grow large. My goal is for it to get tall and drape over so they can enjoy the berries. I've also planted blueberries just outside of the run, so that when it grows large, some of the branches will grow through the wire so they can enjoy those.

Of course nothing will be big enough for them to enjoy until next year probably.

I have raspberries, peas, corn, okra, and cantelope planted outside of the coop. This way I can have it guarded until it flowers. After that I can have them eat the fruit and foliage (the garden is for them, our garden is far from the coop) also I love indian hawthorn, and Japanese privets. They are some good landscape bushes. Butterfly Bush has pretty purple flowers and attract butterflies
