2 acres in town. fenced in backyard where coop and run are located.Dogs will. Chickenwire is not very predator proof at all. Even chain link can be chewed through by a determined dog.

Fox, raccoon, skunk.What kind of animals are around your area?
Dead but not eaten?I would guess raccoon. They did the same thing to my dad's chickens it did take some of the chickens, but it left some of them dead in the coop
we smell skunk quite often around our house.Skunks usually dig and you can smell if they were there...
