I have a hen sitting on eggs. She has broken a few of them and I need to clean her and her nest. What can I use to clean her with? Just warm water and rag or should I use antibacterial? And if so what? Also should I clean remaining eggs? This is her first time sitting and am not sure it’s her thing! Help!!!

Hey there I am sorry can happen with some like humans all should not be mothers..
Okay so warm water even a little soap better if you simply wipe the eggs water only mildy anymore the bloom is off that is protective coating on eggs layed so they do not go bad ...
Do you have a incubator ? can you borrow one ? what state might you be in ?

Actually it is friend who has this hen. I do have an incubator and I am going to take it to her tomorrow. This is day 13. Am hoping that the hen will care for them after the remaining eggs hatch. If not she has raised chicks before. We r going to candle tomorrow also. Do you think there is a possibility that the remaining eggs could have gotten bacteria from eggs she broke? She has cleaned egg shells out as soon as she realized mom broke the eggs but said there was a bad oder. I’ve only had one hen that hatched out eggs but hatch a ton in incubator. Either way nail biter. Lol. Thanks so much for getting back to me. Ps WA STATE V

Silly I am Washington state Mossyrock 21 miles east off I-5 to be exact.
Well take said eggs put them in the incubator. Give them a full 21 days as the temp variations can stunt hatch day
