What can I do for birds missing feathers

Props to you for taking those poor hens in...they are truly lucky that you had a heart to nurture them back to health.
Some people...ugh.

It sounds like all of the suggestions so far are great! I don't know that I would use any VetRx. The only other thing I would suggest is putting NutriDrench in their water or giving them electrolytes.
You can make your own electrolyte water or it's super cheap to just buy a pack at a feed store. Either of those two things will also help give them a nutritional boost.

Like the others said, I wouldn't apply anything as long as the skin isn't broken and they aren't being picked on.

We had really good luck with some sovereign silver spray. We got it at Fred Meyer but I'm sure you could get it at health food stores too. We just used a few sprays 2X a day and that seemed to help keep the skin happy and the feather grew back faster. Maybe it could help here.
