Well my eggs are due the 8th. I have 3 old english game bantam eggs and 2 eggs that are get this: The mom is a cochin x salmon faverolle and the dad is a frizzle cochin. The babies in the past from this pair have turned out to be frizzled or straight feathered with heavily feathered legs, 5 toes, and beards. Here is the mom...

I'm very exited about all these eggs hatching. I have one lone little old english game bantam chick who really needs a buddy. Sadly his batch of eggs didn't do well at hatching. What can I do this time to increase my hatch rate. With the last batch the chicks made it all the way to full size and then died in the shell after internally pipping. Only 2 hatched and sadly one of them died for no apparent reason on the second day of life.

All I know is to have the bator at temp, the humidity above 80% and, as CC tells us all,

STEP AWAY FROM THE BATOR

go shopping, walk around the block, mow the grass, cook a 9 course meal, wash the car, bathe the dog, etc........

i love the salmon favs...i have 4 of them currently...one roo and 3 girls...they are only 5 weekers currently but I do anticipate separating them from the flock occasionally and hatching out some of their eggs. Your hen there is beautiful. I have to say the frizzles look crazy to me LOL, cute i guess in a unique sort of way but crazy! They always make me think of a cat that has just been bathed and put through the dryer!

im sure the babies will be real cute though!

The parents aren't acually my birds but they used to be. Thanks for all the advice. One of the oegb eggs has pipped a few days early. I'm so exited! My little guy will have a friend or a few finally.
