Yesterday my toddler, almost 2 yr old accidentally stepped on the side of one of our 2 week old chicks. I removed him quick and put him under heat & gave him water with electrolytes. He can stand but just kept closing his eyes.
This morning he’s eating a bit and drinking on his own but still closing his eyes while standing.
What can I do to help him? Will he make it? I’m very upset because we had been waiting all March for them to hatch by our girls and I’m hoping he’ll be okay.

He likely has internal injuries, if he doesn't improve by tomorrow, you'll want to put him down, I'm sorry

As long as it's eating and drinking on its own, it's trying, so I'd leave him there where it's warm and quiet, so it can rest. If a vital organ was injured, it'll be dead within a few hours. If not, he might just be fine.
