I have a lively mix of chickens in my yard. Girls: 2 gold sexlinks, 2 RIR, 2 bantam black orps. Boys: 1 bantam black orp, 2 large fowl Easter Eggers, 2 Polish.
I am incubating some of these eggs. 4 large, brown eggs and 5 bantam eggs. Since I rarely see my bantam rooster even try to "spend time" with my big girls, I am assuming the large eggs will be large birds.
If the bantam eggs were sired by a large rooster, what does that mean for the chick? Will they automatically be bantam because the egg is small? Will they be bantam but lay colored egg
If any of you have had similar experience or any ideas, i'd love to know what I can expect.
