What can make a dog over weight

Exercise, exercise and more exercise. In the wild, a dog would get lots of exercise and may not eat every day. Wolves, wild dogs, dingos and other canines are never overweight.

Thanks every one for all the info I do feed grain free to all my dogs we feed blur dog food but I know about all the recalls to I'm wanting to switch but the only thing is they really like blue and do good on it and I don't know what another good food would be. And also the vet that I take my dogs to is almost an hour away I've never taken this dog there and with her being over weight is there anything that could happen she loves car rides but cuz her weight I'm a little worried
