Hi all,
Our beautiful little babies are 4 days old and doing amazing. They are currently eating crumb with niacin, is there anything else I can introduce to them at this age?
Many thanks

I don’t think so. Once they turn two weeks old though, you can start to offer grass, fruits, and vegetables but make sure to offer grit with that, as they will not be able to digest those foods without the grit.
Thankyou for the reply
I didn’t even know about the grit, first rime for us. Do you add that to their feed or give separately?

I would be careful about offering free-choice though. I've read (and experienced) when giving free choice chicks eating a whole jar and then getting sick.

That is with chickens though, so I'm not sure if its the same as with ducks.
If you don’t give it feee choice how do you give it? In feed?

I just sprinkle some around occasionally, on their food and bedding.

Once they are older and more used to it, I think it may be ok to feed free choice, but when (at least with chickens) they are introduced to something new, they will eat a lot.
