What can you use eggshells for?

I've been told that you can crumble eggshells and scatter them around plants to keep the slugs at bay. This didn't work for me, but it might work for you, depending on what your slugs are like.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, where our slugs are... more determined than those in other parts of the country. And bigger (up to 6-8 inches long). The only thing that really deters them is copper, but that's another tangent!

I crush mine up and drop them in my worm box. The worms like them, and they're good for your garden.

I crush and feed back to the chickens, along with oyster shell. No baking or drying, just crush and feed.

I have heard they are great for tomatoes, too. Just put them in the hole when you plant.

Wow great ideas! Thanks
