What causes roosters combs to droop? The tips turn dark?

Our main boy Ed, had been feeling very bad but is improving after everyone in the flock was on tylan for respiratory issues. His color had come back to his comb and wattles but the comb isn't standing all the way back up yet. Now I'm noticing some of the other boys combs have darkness to some of the points (straight combs) and some of them are starting to flip over a little, beginning with the tips/points. Some have the discoloring, some have been over points, a couple have both.
Do I need another round of Tylan to head something off?

It's not a good sign. It suggests lack of oxygen and/or dehyrdation which would be indication of illness. (The only other reason for black floppy tips to my knowledge is frostbite, but we're not dealing with that here).

If Tylan has helped the first round, I'd be setting up for a second. Of course if it is viral, antibiotics does nothing. Good TLC is definitely in order.
