What cell phone service do you use...

Robin, the customer service for the WIRELESS is fine. It's the residential and FIOS service that sucks like an octopus! You DO have to watch your bill, because they do charge for extra stuff your kids or hubby may do not away they are costing you money.

My parents and brother use Tracfones and are happy with them. I'm seriously thinking about going that route for me and my DH because we just do not use our phones very much. I can put the two boys on a family plan and let them share talk and texting minutes. The problem is deciding on which carrier...

Yes, I have Virgin Mobile.

$25 a month. Unlimited text, unlimited internet, 300 minutes. I think they have an unlimited minutes plan for about 50 bucks, although with free texts I never go over the minutes at the 300 level.

I LOVE it. It's cheap. Customer service is good. No contracts. Coverage is good and I live in a rural area where coverage is really sketchy for a lot of the big guys. I think they run on the Sprint network. ??? Not sure.

I am thinking I might get a new phone soon or jailbreak an IPhone so I can stay with them. That's how much I like them.

Well, I really should have used the term Unlock, which means you can use it on a different carrier. Currently you can only get an Iphone on ATT. Jailbreak means you can install 3rd party apps on the phone. If you jailbreak an IPhone it is also unlocked so the terms can somewhat be used interchangeably.

I keep procrastinating on doing it because I keep hearing rumors that they are going to open up the Iphone to other carriers, but the court case regarding the monopoly is still pending apparently. {Shrug} I have a very good reason for not jailbreaking it, if possible, that I can't really go into here on the net.

So I take it "unlocking" and "jailbreaking" an iphone is illegal? I feel so old when it comes to technology... it changes so fast and I can't keep up with it all.

We have Verizon and have had them for 7 + years and have been very happy with the reception. My husband drives truck and has reception almost everywhere he goes. My parents are in WV and when we travel there from MN we have great reception. Their customer service is really good too.

"Illegal?"

Certainly not. Once you OWN a phone, it is yours to do with whatever you want.

Now you WILL void the warranty, but quite frankly, if you want service with another carrier, the money you save on the service is more than the amount you would spend to buy a new phone if you broke it, so...
