What cell phone service do you use...

Verizon. have no issues and I get better service and reception with it than I do the At&T landline...last time the landline "went out" it was for 11 days. We have Droids with unlimited text, talk and data for web and etc..we also get a 15% military discount (we are retired).

We are so happy with our service that we are about to kill the landline completely.

They don't have "stores" that I know of, but rather online/phone only, which I imagine keeps their prices down. Their customer service is GREAT...not once have I had a bad experience. They use the sprint network, but have access to other towers, but don't charge for roaming. So, if I in an area that had better AT&T coverage, my phone switches to roaming onto that tower and I get better reception (but doesn't cost me a penny). My husband had been wanting me to switch over for probably a year and I fought it (Never heard of them, etc). Boy, do I regret waiting so long! I had Cingular/AT&T before, which I was happy with, but I really like Credo!

I believe that most of the lower cost cell providers work this way. I would think that Carolina, being on the Eastern Seaboard, has extremely good coverage by many networks, so she could easily take her choice of carriers. Also, if she happened to find that Sprint (for example) had the most cell towers in her area, she could pick any of the other carriers that USE the Sprint network. She wouldn't necessarily have to go with Sprint, to get the same advantages.

My cell phone is with ATT. It's not the service that I mind; it's the cell phones that I hate using. I don't make more than 20 calls a year. I keep it in the car, mostly for possible emergencies.

If you are having trouble getting signal in your house you can buy a receiver to plug in to your internet. Its more or less a mini cell tower. My brother lives in a dead spot an has one... You may find people parking in front of your house to make calls though. They wont know why they get good signal there but they will notice that they do.

Right now we have the Everything Messaging (unlimited) family plan w/ 1500 shared anytime minutes. We never go the amount of talk minutes we have available, and the kids are happy because they can text their fingers off if they want to. Other than feeling like DH and I are paying too much for the small amount of time we use our phones, and having no data service (unless we want to pay an arm and leg to use it) we're happy with the plan. Our bill is less than $130/mo for 4 lines. I can not find any other carrier that compares to the price, except prepaid plans and I'm not seeing a lot of good reviews on those. Does anyone have anything similar with another carrier at a comparable price?

pips&peeps :

Verizon, no one else can get me service where I live.

Same here ~ we live in a small valley and Verizon is the only cell service we have found that we don't have to drive a mile or hike up to the top of the hill to make/get a call.

I have cricket and couldn't be happier. I used to work for their call center before they were available here, and I told myself that if they were ever here I would get a cricket phone. I dropped sprint after being a customer for 5 years and ported my number to cricket when they came to SA.
