What chicken is easiest to catch?

My polish are my easiest to catch

My silkies are the easiest to catch, which is why I have them in a dog kennel. I can let them out to free range while I'm outside, then shoo them back in without too much fuss before I go inside.

My other chickens- whew! That would be exhausting to round them up. I have to use a fish net to catch them when they don't want to be caught. If they aren't in stealth mode, they squat for me and thus are easy to catch. When I let them out sometimes to free range, that is IT for the day. I don't mess with them until I am closing the coops.

Almost all of mine I can catch easily....my Sumatras or bantam cochins being the easiest. The Sumatra hens will fly up onto my arm to eat out of my hand all of the time. The bantam cochin (hens) I can grab and they don't care at all. I would say the hardest to catch are my Creves by far.

Of course all are easy at night, in the dark!

Polish are WAY easy to catch. They are blinder than bats I swear. I can walk right up to mind, facing them, grab it up and then it will scream its bloody head off because I took it by suprise. Its become a skill I am trying to master to be quiet enough to grab them and instantly start soothing before they can get worked up as soon as my hands touch them. Silkies are easy too if they are raised tame. We have ours where they sit on our shoulder and walk around with us so we can just walk up to them and pick them up.

Blinder than bats!! HA! my polish roo and his new hen just flash out of sight when they see me! But its funny you would say that.

In all seriousness, my chickens come running when I pull in the driveway as I am their source for scratch and other treats. I have to watch as I close the door to make sure they don't follow me in the house!

The easiest chicken to catch is one sleeping on a roost. The hardest to catch is one running around lose in the yard.
