What chicken is easiest to catch?

My Shamo's are both Oriental, and game.. I can walk up to all three of my cocks and pick them up with no problem, they tend to enjoy being around people. And this is passed along by other's who breed Malay, Asil, Shamo, Thai, or really any Oriental gamefowl. Towards people they are the tamest birds in my opinion. Even towards dogs they aren't typically scared, unless the dog was to show aggression or something. They're a very trusting breed it seems.

I've heard that. I should have said "some".

Seriously though, I have to use a butterfly net to catch my roos. And it's darn effective too!

I personally have never heard of or seen skittish Oriental Gamefowl, though I could imagine American Gamefowl being so, but only if never "hand raised."

PDB kind of answered my post along the same lines, I guess I could see where he is coming from.. Sumatra's and Cornish probably aren't always the calmest birds, but they are both put into the Oriental and Game categories sometimes.

I have American Gamefowl and they are very easy to catch. They have proven easy to train such they will fly to my hand when specific name is called. Same birds, if they did not want to be caught, would be more difficult to catch than any other breed. Except at night.

Most important is how you care for them and how they are conditioned.

My girls are all easy to catch, as soon as I get within a foot of them they squat down and start stompin those big ol' feet. We just have to scoop them right up. The rooster though is another story, that son of a gun is FAST and he never wants to go inside the run.
