What chickens should I get?

I have 6 acres and I live in MO. I really want something that will become attached to me but will eat all our bugs. What chickens do you think I should get?

For eating ticks, Guineas are best. For general bug control they are all pretty good. I would look in the breeds section and look for foraging types. I believe game hens are real good bug control but kinda flighty. My orpingtons are very loving and they are very cold hardy.

Welcome to BYC. Go to the "Chicken Breeds" forum and look around. Pick a breed/breeds that are aesthetically and functionally pleasing for you. Good luck in making your decisions.

Barred Rocks
Australorp
Favorolles (friendly but I'm not sure about foraging)
etc.
