Rest in Peace -2017
I hear mixed reviews on Polish. Some say they're great pets, some say they're schizo
Bantam Cochins are good with kiddos as a rule, they're docile and calm, make good pets. They get along well with Silkies as a rule. I've not had and bantam Brahmas myself, but they have the same calm reputation.
Sultans would be another good choice.
If you want larger birds, maybe Faverolles. My experience with them is they don't do well in a mixed flock with large birds, but they'd probably be right in line with Silkies, temperament wise. Big fluffy bearded hens, lay decently well, calm and docile.
