hi I'm are looking at getting chickens for a small area and I'm in a suburban area. they can't be to skittish because of the dog. the first few weeks he'll bark at them but in the the next few weeks he'll lick them like with my rabbit(pardon the grammar in this)only wanted 3-5
I've been looking at

orprintons
andalusions
wyandotte

but really open to any suggestions
must be tolerant to children
thanks Brittany

I have barred rocks, buffed orpingtons, australorps, silver and golden laced wyandottes and americaunas and they are all pretty tolerant and they may be a little skittish when you first get them but ounce they have been there for a while they will be right at home. Hope this helps

Thanks for the welcoming.
i reckon i will get a few orpringtons to start with I'm a big fan of them or sussexs

I have i final decision it is buff orpringtons,
they are so placid tame and really good egg layers i think.

but are they really chubby or is it their dense plumage ?

thank you
