What is the best hybrid for large quantities of eggs, that are friendly and that are hardy?

I'm looking at getting the Rhode rock.

Welcome to BYC! The sex links fit the description. They have various names, Red sex link, Black sex link, golden comet, cinnamon queen.....chicks' sex can be distinguished easily by color, thus they are called Sex links. My daughter has 3, they let my 5 yr old granddaughter carry them around. They are egg laying machines, rarely miss a day.

What... do you mean the black rock has various names and your daughters hens rarely miss a day?

My daughter's 3 hens each lay an egg almost every day, 6-7 a week each. My non hybrid, hens, which are a barred rock, a speckled sussex, and 4 leghorns, average 3-5 eggs a week each.
