So, I have a showgirl rooster. He's been pretty much fertilizing whomever he can get his hands on. If he mixes with my cuckoo marans hen, what are the possibilities of what the chicks will look like? Thank you.

So, I have a showgirl rooster. He's been pretty much fertilizing whomever he can get his hands on. If he mixes with my cuckoo marans hen, what are the possibilities of what the chicks will look like? Thank you.

What color is the rooster?

If he's dark feathered, you'll have a black sex-link. The barring from the female will put barring on the male offspring, identifiable at hatch by a dot on the male's heads.

Blue Columbian.

The chicks will be sex linked with this crossing. Half of the offspring will be blue, & half will be black.
Males will have a head spot.

In the case of the males you'll either get Blue Barred, or Black Barred with the Columbian influence.
