Hey chicken friends. I decided to hatch out some chicks from my silver double laced barnevelder hens that were knocked up by my French black copper maran rooster. Both are Greenfire farms lines. As of now I’ve hatched one but have a handful hatching in the next week as well. Anyone have any idea what these will develop into? Pics provided. Thanks for any help!

Breed calculator states 50% blue and 50% black both genders....which I agree with as blue is a black diluter and Mom has only 1 diluter otherwise she'd be splash.

My personal experience working with gold laced barnevelder is the first generation of mix you get incomplete lacing....but I was working with gold laced over a red partridge. I think the silver laced would also present imperfectly as it is double laced. Breed back to another silver laced and 2nd gen you are back to some nice lacing.

So I think 50% blue base 50% black base with incomplete lacing both genders.

What I'd expect....but I again was working with gold laced.
