All 8 of my EEs have red/gold necks and brownish black bodies. What is that color called, wheaton? partridge?

What breeds does McMurray use to make their EEs?

Thanks,
Joycelyn

I don't think there is a color name for those. Just good ol' EEs.

They look half welsummer or half light brown leghorn. Breed color? Im not sure what you are asking.

I just want to know their color.
I'm from the horse world, where no matter how much of a mutt a horse may be, we can tell you if it is a Bay, Palomino, Gray, or Dun, etc.

Is there a name for this color? (see the original post photo)

In chickens, the color can look the same in 2 different breeds, but be called something totally different. I think this is most often referred to as partridge.

It's not the same as horses.

The calculator can only help you when it's something that will breed true, too. With EEs, they don't have any way of you seeing what coloring is hiding in the latent genes- and there are a ton of genes in question.

This is not the world of horses. These birds are not any standard color or breed, definitely not wheaten or partridge. If you want a color that will breed true and lays colored eggs, your best bet is Ameraucanas. The breed does have a website, but apparently I'm not allowed to mention it here.
