Thanks, but I have 14 silkie babies (had a great hatch 14/15 on shipped eggs) I am trying to determine which ones to keep!Of course, you should be able to tell for sure when they grow feathers.

Well, supposed to be lavender is not 100% as none of the eggs were marked and I got mixed colors, "lavender" heavy. This is where the fun begins trying to figure it out, so I can sell the extra chicks. I would love to keep all 14, but not enough room. I was not counting on such a great hatch rate!Oh - I thought you were guessing lavender! Lol! If they're supposed to be lavender, they're probably lavender. They look a little light compared to the lavenders I've seen, but that may be my phone's screen. They look A LOT like my splash when she was a chick. Haha!

But chicks tend to get tiny feathers in the wings very early--you might be able to tell actual white from lavender by looking at the first tiny feathers in just a few days. (Maybe hold a piece of white paper next to it for comparison.)
