Easter Egger 5 weeks - will she turn out white? I'm not sure what color to call her head and neck.

The first looks like a black tailed buff or a really bad quality Buff.

The Easter egger will not be white. Probably will be close to a red pyle in color.

Matt

Black tailed or just plain bad quality buff.

The Easter Egger will turn out to be a red pyle type color, and that orangey color on the neck will get a little more vibrant as she matures.

Thanks guys

He's soo red I would have never thought buff. And while he's my favorite rooster, (very nice personality and a beautiful crow), I have no use for him so he'll be going to freezer camp in the near future.

Does anyone know where I can find an example of an adult with the red pyle type coloring? I'm assuming that's not a standard Ameracauna color. I know, I know it was a hachery bird. Good Marans breeding stock this year and good Ameracauna breeding stock next year.

No, the "Red Pyle" look is actually based off of Splash Wheatens. . . There are indeed Blue and Splash Wheaten Ameraucanas though.

As for an adult example, there was one guy around here I saw with an adult roo. . With hens, I think you may find some in the "EE Braggers' Thread!" in breeds/genetics section.
